Red
Age: 22
Breed: Quarter Horse Cross
Red is a 22-year-old Quarter Horse cross with a background rich in both barrel racing and cattle work. Before transitioning into her current role as a lesson and therapy horse, Red spent years honing her athleticism and work ethic in the arena and on the ranch.
This big, gentle lady is known for her patience and kindness, making her a favorite among both clients and her pen mates, Shivers and Bett. Red is deeply attuned to the energy around her and is particularly skilled at showing clients how their behavior and emotions can impact others. She won’t tolerate negativity and helps people understand what is and isn’t acceptable in a calm, non-judgmental way.
Red absolutely loves working with children. Despite her size, she has a unique ability to adjust to their pace and height, often dropping her head to make them feel more comfortable. Her nurturing nature, combined with her keen sensitivity to energy, makes her an invaluable partner in lessons and therapy sessions. Whether out on the trails or working in the arena, Red’s warmth and patience create a safe and supportive environment for all who work with her.
Bett
Age: 24
Breed: Quarter Horse
Bett is a seasoned Quarter Horse mare with a rich history and an even bigger heart. Before joining our lesson and therapy program, Bett was a passionate barrel racer who thrived on the speed and excitement of the sport. She still hasn’t lost that spark! Whenever there’s a barrel set up, you can bet she’ll be first to line up and show everyone how it’s done.
Now, Bett has transitioned to being an honest, direct, and emotionally attuned teacher, guiding both humans and horses with patience and wisdom. She has a natural ability to connect with others, providing a safe and supportive environment for clients to grow and heal. Her role in the program is more than just a job—it's her calling.
Bett brings a unique energy to everything she does, combining a love for learning with a gentle yet strong presence. She thrives on belly scratches, attention, and being part of the team. As long as she gets those, she’s happy to keep teaching, sharing her wisdom, and making a difference every day.
We are so grateful for Bett and the joy she brings to our program.
Pac-Man
Age: 10
Breed: Quarter Horse Gelding
Pac-Man, affectionately known as Pac, is a 10-year-old Quarter Horse gelding with a heart as big as his playful name! When he's not barrel racing or playing with cows, Pac is the calm, cuddly presence everyone loves. His easy-going attitude and gentle demeanor make him a natural teacher and a patient guide for both humans and horses alike.
Pac's calming influence has helped many who were once afraid to connect with horses build trust and confidence. He encourages courage and growth, offering a safe space for clients to find their own strength.
Despite his time spent racing barrels and having fun with the cows, Pac never loses his laid-back "surf dude" vibe. Whether he's in the arena or just hanging out, his relaxed nature makes him an essential and beloved part of the team.
We’re so thankful for Pac and the peace he brings to our program!
